My son Kurtys who is 24 months old has brain cancer, an atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor (AT/RT).

A very rare, rapidly growing embryonal tumor of the brain and spinal cord that accounts for approximately 1 to 2% of central nervous system (CNS) tumors in children.

Currently, he is being followed in the pediatric oncology department of the Marie Curie hospital in Paris in the 5th arrondissement.

His illness began in January 2023. His first symptoms were repeated vomiting. The morning after each awakening, vomit was found in his crib, which was followed by a pronounced squint.

We then went to the emergency room. After a scan, my wife, who was 2 months pregnant, and I were told that our 11 month old son had an anomaly, but without really telling us what it really was.

We were transferred to the Rothschild hospital in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. That’s when we started panicking..

Once there, we were given the diagnosis. It was in that exact moment that the world fell apart for us.

Today we face a critical situation. After a year of treatment and significant recovery, the tumor is regaining ground and growing rapidly.

It is in monumental distress that I ask you to help us financially in order to go to a country which has a more in-depth study on this AT/RT tumor.

So I made the decision to create this fund in order to do everything in my power to help my son, with your help.

The costs involve :

– Travel of Kurtys and the family

– The payment of the treatments (Medications, creams, gel and masks)

– Kurtys’ food, his diapers and hygiene products.

– Accommodation and meals for the family

The purpose of this fund is to finance an emergency repatriation by plane from the hospital in La Rochelle to the hospital in Lille for my son.

Thibaut, 21, is suffering from generalized cancer.

He has been fighting it every day for 4 years now.

During this difficult period, Thibaut wanted to go on vacation with his auntie in La Rochelle to enjoy these precious moments. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated very quickly, and he had to be rushed to hospital in La Rochelle.

He has now been hospitalized in La Rochelle for 2 weeks, and his dearest wish is to be able to return to Lille and see the doctors who have been treating him for the past 4 years.

As his prognosis is vital, the only way to make this transfer is by plane, as the ambulance would be too painful and too risky for him (an 8-hour journey).

This transfer by medically-assisted plane costs 23,200 euros…. and unfortunately, we haven’t managed to raise this amount…

After contacting Mondial Assistance, Social Security and all possible insurance companies, none of them will pay for the transfer.

We therefore appeal to you to be able to carry out this transfer as soon as possible for Thibaut.

We are launching this fund to support Maëlys’ parents and give them a little hope.

For those who don’t yet know her story, Maëlys is a little doll born on 24 April 2021 to her parents Alizée and Guillaume.

After 3 months and her first epileptic seizure, her parents realised that things were not going to be a smooth ride: they learned that Maëlys had multiple disabilities with neurodevelopmental disorders and was still awaiting a genetic diagnosis.

Alizée and Guillaume’s long battle began with many sleepless nights full of anxiety, severe epileptic seizures and frequent hospital stays.

Maëlys needed a lot of attention and care, so her parents had to organise full-time care for her. Her mum gave up her job to devote herself 1,000% to her little girl.

At almost 21 months old, Maëlys still has no autonomy: she can’t hold her head, can’t sit up, is fed through a nasogastric tube… yet her body is continuing to develop and daily life is becoming increasingly difficult without suitable equipment.

So even if money isn’t everything, a small gesture will be PRECIOUS to help her parents feel SUPPORTED and to help them finance the many appliances and therapies necessary for Maëlys’ development.

Funding for psychomotor therapy sessions, self-help courses and adapted seats are just a few examples of the many PRIMARY needs for Maëlys’ healthy development.

Your help will be most welcome in the extraordinary struggle of this ordinary family who deserve all our support.

My name is Morgane, I’m from Brittany, I’m 25 and I’ve been suffering from SED, a rare, orphan genetic disease, for 10 years now.

Until I was 15, I led a completely normal life, I went to school, I had friends, but my life was turned upside down.

After several years on the battlefield, supported by the AMADYS association and neurologists, a word has finally been put about my illness.

In 2018, I was diagnosed with hEDS, which affects connective tissue, accounting for 80% of the body, and explains my various symptoms, the main ones being: dystonia, chronic pain, subluxations and dislocations, constipation, fatigue, etc. The disease handicaps me to the point where I can no longer walk and have permanent pain. So I have to take morphine, which only gives me occasional and partial relief, because I can’t take it long-term to avoid becoming dependent.

I’ve been home-schooled by the CNED since my second year, and I’m currently in the 2nd year of a BTS in Accounting and Management because my illness has prevented me from studying normally. I’m dependent for everyday activities and I can’t lead a normal life. Despite this illness, I’m as cheerful and positive as I can be, and I’ve kept a few close friends and the support of my family.

Today, I’m still hopeful, because there is a solution to relieve my pain: transcranial and peripheral magnetic stimulation using a high-performance machine available at my doctor’s surgery in Rouen, one of the few in France to have it.

The problem is that we can’t go every month as indicated for chronic pain (my parents are unavailable and I can’t afford the hotel and catering for the 2 days needed) and when I have attacks of dystonia, the stimulation has to be done immediately to stop them.

So the ideal solution would be to have this machine at home, but it costs €20,000, a huge sum that we don’t have at our disposal and which is not covered by Social Security.

This machine is the MagPro R20 from Magventure, manufactured in the United States and Denmark, compliant with ISO 13485: 2016 and CE approved by Europe.

Dr Parain, who follows me, is the neurologist who has studied the benefits of this machine the most and has written several scientific articles attesting to the effectiveness of the stimulation sessions. He has also created a website (http://www.drparain.fr) where he explains the benefits of the machine for a number of illnesses.

My family and I would be extremely grateful if you could help us with this purchase, either financially by making a donation or simply by sharing the kitty with others.

Hello everyone!

We are Catherine De Rochefort, a psychomotor therapist, and Lucile Bonnin, the mother of Louisa, a 4-year-old girl with multiple disabilities who suffers from a rare disease known as Pura syndrome (300 cases worldwide). We live in Guadeloupe and together, with the support of the elected representatives of the Saint François town council, its paediatricians, physiotherapists, nurses, family and friends, we’re dreaming of opening a day-care centre for multi-disabled children and a respite home for families who currently have no suitable facilities.

Our project in concrete terms?

We’re planning to set up a suitable facility for our children and their carers, thanks to the support we’ve received to date from the MDPH, the CAF, the ERDF, the Guadeloupe Department and the Guadeloupe Region.

We want to provide support and a place to help families who are struggling to come to terms with their daily lives and who have no way of easing their pain. That’s why we’re appealing for donations to help us make the opening of this facility a reality.

Les POLISSONS will be a human-scale facility of 200 m².

Our layout plans have been drawn up by an architectural firm with knowledge of disabilities, because this project is from A to Z a request for the inclusion of difference and illness in our society. The gardener and cleaning staff will be people with disabilities so that they have access to employment. Then there will be a team of three specialised educators, two nursery nurses, and liberal professions including physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychomotor therapy, music therapy, relaxation therapy and massage therapy.

What’s more? The proximity of the mediopole structure and the carers for our children, as well as the maritime station to enable isolated families from the ilets to finally have access.

We’re thinking about the well-being of the children in this facility, with a sensory Snoezelen room, a small pool for balneotherapy workshops (pool and jacuzzi already built), a garden area with adapted scooters and pushchairs.

And that’s not all! We’re also thinking about the parents of our POLISSONS – their well-being is essential. We’ll be offering workshops in relaxation therapy, yoga, balneotherapy, talking circles and parental guidance to help them free themselves from the daily burden and find solutions together to live better with the burden of the disease.

LES POLISSONS is also a boarding facility for one child at a time, enabling parents in Guadeloupe to meet up, be supported and relieved for one night, knowing that their child is safe. But it’s also a welcome to families who are travelling with a multi-disabled child and have no accommodation solution to enable them to stay in a facility.

As LES POLISSONS is an association under the 1901 law, we can provide you with a tax receipt certificate.
